do i need to connect the air intake temp sensor in the turbo air intake? has anybody done this after running without it and noticed any difference?

i've had it disconnected before i even boosted my car and the CEL wouldn't turn on. the CEL started turning on after i got a 2 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust installed and running w/o a catalytic so i just took it out. the code it was throwing was air/fuel ratio monitoring.

where's your o2 at? and isn't it obd2 so its gonna be a little more of a bitch trying to stay away from the check engine light?

Mine is connected but not installed its zip tied to a cable hanging there.

i have the O2s' both of them in the same exact spot they used to be. only now one of them is mounted on a 2 1/2" pipe that goes to the muffler(where the catalytic use to be) and one in the same spot it use to be at when it had headers, except now it's on the down pipe. I put more thought into this, and isn't the temp under the hood infront of the distributor (where the sensor's hanging) the same as the temp in the intake infront of the turbo (where the sensor could be mounted)? :-\

If i had a car that didnt have the intake air temp sensor in the manifold (OBDII) what i would do is drill a hole in the backside of the intake manifold for the sensor, and then drill and tap 2 holes for the screws and get a nice fat rubber o ring to seal it.

people mount them on the air filter pipe leading to the turbo. i just wanted to see if it was worth it. i'd jd weld a rubber hose to the intake pipe that connects to the compressor and mount the ait there.

mounting it on the turbo's air inlet is not a good idea. You might as well leave it hanging in the engine bay if you do that. the sensor is to measure the air intake temperature. After compressing and intercooling the air, it could have different temperatures. I would recommend putting it on the manifold as said above. partial throttle closed loop mode can suffer from incorrect sensor input. Especially on OBDII cars
