Distributor Vacuum Lines (Low Res Pic)

I have an 86 integra engine (D16a1) with vacuum advance on the distributor in my 86 crx with a MSD 6AL and BTM setup. The problem is that it has always "bucked" and had a horrible miss if i punched the gas pedal from a cruising speed. I was just used to it doing this since it was boosted over a year ago.
Well the other night it was backfiring quite bad so I figured it was an ignition based problem. I fixed one of the wires, although I also noticed a vacuum leak coming from the distributor diaphragm pot thingy for the advance(see pic). That means the diaphragm is shot so I have to get a new one. I want to make sure I hook up the lines correctly next time.

I've been driving around with the vacuum line going to the distributor disconnected and now the car doesn't buck at all. Doesn't that also mean I am not getting any advance from the distributor though? I am thinking I had it hooked up to the wrong tube all along.

NOW ON TO MY QUESTION: Does the IM vacuum line go into the diaphragm tube closer to the distributor or the one further away? Then I'll hook up the other line from the black emissions box to the other tube.

(camera phone but you get the idea)
