Distributor??????????
I just put a B16A3 into my 92 Hatch DX this weekend but I have one problem. The plugs for the distributor is different. My question is, instead of hunting down another distributor can I use the one from my SOHC motor.

Re:Distributor??????????
i dont think you can. something about the sensors inside the dizzy. what wont fit, the plugs?
a b16a3 is out of a del sol I believe. Go to a dealer and bring your dizzy and check what the del sol vtec dizzy looks like compared to yours. if they look different swap the plugs maybe? |
Re:Distributor??????????

dizzy = distributor

Re:Distributor??????????
make an adapter from the wire extra wire harness's instead of cuttin the plugs up on the dizzy or the harness in ur car...
|
Re:Distributor??????????
OBD2 connector is diffrent from the OBD 1. What i have done is either cut the engine harness and solder up the plugs for the OBD 2 dizzy or make a nice little harness (i can make you one but you will have to supply the plugs).

Re:Distributor??????????
just got to the junkyard and cut the plugs off u need . i had extra plugs so i made my own lil adapter..

Re:Distributor??????????
or just open it up and change the internals w/ d series plugs. go read up on honda-tech, its been done before and works.

Re:Distributor??????????
ok this is what i did when i had to use a obd-2 dizzy on a obd-1 wiring harness... pull the pins out of the engine wiring ahrness and simply plug the pins into a obd-2 plug .... you can swap out the wires in side the connectors ... its ahrd to explain but it makes it clean and there is no cutting or splicing involved...
try that it will work for ya if you understand my giberish scarponze |
