difference between EF and EG springs

I want to put stock springs on my car for the winter so I can run some bigger snow tires and because my exhaust scrapes a lot at its present height. Anyway, what is the difference between the EF springs and the EG's? I have a 5th gen and my buddy has a 4th gen hatch with stock springs? Would they fit? I'm thinking they must be at least a little shorter than stock 5th gen springs. I'll eventually figure this out on my own but if anyone knows off the top of their heads that would be great. TIA

How much shorter? How crappy would this make the ride? I'm going to source the 5th gen springs if I have to, the 4th gen ones would just be easier.

The EF springs are wider at the top where they rest on that cap thingy. the Eg ones are a bit more narrow at the top.

Really. I've got EG prings on my EF. I had no problem with the top hats. I Also have the struts too. But I still have EF Hats. Fit with no problems, Mine are the same size.
