Determining engine year..
 

Ok folks, I have a DOHC ZC and I cannot figure out what year it is. I know there is suppossed to be a stamp on the block between the cylinders near the dipstick tube, but there is nothing there that would indicate what year the damn thing is. The block is stamped ZC, so is there another way to figure this out?? Can I count the splines on the input shaft or something like that? I know that it doesn't really matter if I know the year, but it just drives me crazy not knowing. :-\ TIA.

who cares? it shold be stamped on the block between #3 & 4...if its not then i beieve its an 88....

wheres the "H" for honda on the valve cover front or back? I beleive if im not mistaken if its on the front 88-95 back is pre 88 or 89

Yes, the H is on the front....so going by the two responses, I am going to assume it's an 88. Thanks guys.

it should be stamped on the head in a circle above the exhaust ports.

I know, I have read that in several different locations, but mine is not stamped??
