well i followed some examples guys posted on here and did the brass tube smashed and bolted to the block.. ran 5/16th fuel line hose to ear cover thingys.. im not hearing anything... not even other engine noises really.. any ideas of what im doing wrong?

I guess that means you're good to crank up the boost until you do start hearing things right?!

how did you hook it up exactly the the ear muffs/whatever?? pics?

I did the same thing and had similar results. I took a brass fitting and used a step bit to drill a hole in the ear muff slightly smaller than the threads on the fitting, then screwed it in. It self tapped and is very tight in the muff. I used 3/8" fuel line, which I thought might be too soft and spongy but real stethoscopes are made of soft rubber hose as well. I put my brass tube under the exhaust mani on one of the screw holes, then I screwed it down tight. I don't know what's wrong with it.
