Delta 272 + boost?
I was looking into buying a Delta 272 cam for my d16y7 earlier this year since it would of been my back-up, NA motor for my hatch.
Plans changed and I ended up boosting that motor instead of my Z6. Would it be a good idea to get this cam anyways, I figure the overlap must be excessive and would hamper spooling at low-mid RPMs but must be good for high-end. It is also dirt cheap... I figured if this cam can make power at high RPM NA then it should also do the same turbo. I have a 14B turbo and am running UD. This car has a 6 puck unsprung clutch and is daily driven, althought fast and for a short span of time. Any idea \ predictions? |
Re: Delta 272 + boost?
Well I have a delta 272 on my a20a3 and it helped with the upper powerband a shitload. Stock the car would stop making power around 5000 rpm and now it pulls to 6500 strong and hard. I'd definitely give it a shot turbo to see what it would do. You can always swap a stock cam back in if it sucks. Or you could increase your valve lash a bit to reduce lift

Re: Delta 272 + boost?
I'm 1000% sure its good for top end, I'm just wondering if it would be bad for low end
meaning full boost around 5.5-6k rpm with the 14B Anybody know? also chris, can you link up the other thread you talk about, I search to no avail. |
Re: Delta 272 + boost?
I'd buy it. They are cheap as ----.... if you don't like it... sell it w/ minimal loss.
