Default D17A2 Shortblock w/ D16Y8 Head

hey guys i'm new on here and i was searching the web for a newer swap.....I was told by a few differnet guys on d-series.org thats a d series early tranny will bolt up to the d17a2, i was also told that there was only really one problem other then porting mods on the intake of a d17a2 which i dont plan on using. The oil passage on the d17a2 block dosent match the head of the y8....i orginally was lookin at a post on this site of someone triein the same set-up couldnt find it any intel on the match up etc would be greatly appericated

d17 parts stay with d17 parts. dont mix and match, you want a better swap find a d16a6 or a d16z6 swap.

You can put D17 bottom end internals into a D16. Trying anything else is a waste of time.

lame. i dotn really like the idea unless u got money to waste and have race gas all teh time to make it fun/run!!!!

As a result, the motor's compression ratio ended up at 13.2:1, which is much higher than the stock D16A6's 9.1:1.

I like the idea since I can get D17's all day long for 79 cents.

FYI, I run E10 87 octane in my 12.5:1 CR beater. Not that this dude was forced into 13.2:1... if you read he deliberately swapped to 01-03 GX pistons and welded up his cylinder head.
