d16z6 obd0 .. possible?

well i have a crx and i want a z6 motor because i know that its probably the best bang for the buck d series motor. i really wanna keep it obd0, however, because i know more people working with turboedit than with uberdata.

will using a pm6 ecu plus some kind of vtec controller still yield the same results as a normal turbo z6?

maybe theres a better obd0 option out there?

you can use a ps9 (90-91 4dr EX ecu). turboedit 1-wire vtec will work.

your biggest hurddle will be the dist. you have to "rig" the obd-0 dist to fit on there.

dohc ZC, just cause it'd be easier to do.

if you have the choice ... to either od a z6 or zc i'd hit it with a ZC...

not AS much aftermarket parts, but if you want them , you can find them and they are just the same.

ZCs are great little motors....

putting a obd1 or obd2 motor into a obd0 car is pretty simple thoguh...just hookup what your obd0 car usually has...leave the rest unplugged..

im doing a d16y8 into my crx si (91) going obd2 to obd0...

should be fun :)

It shouldnt be that hard cus i did a similar set up for a kid who had an si crx and i did a jdm d15b sohc vtec swap which is similar to the d16z6. Only thing i did was use his intake manifold, used the jdm fpr, used his dizzy that i had to modify a bit but got 2 bolts to work and hat to swap drivers side motor mount. Now for the vtec u can stick with the si ecu and run a vafc which he did or u can use a pr3 and pin ur 2 wires for oil pressure and vtec pressure and third wire for ground. Only thing with the pr3 is that ur vtec will kick in later and red line will be 8500 i think it is which is pointless unless u got the head built to rev that far but u could get it chipped to let vtec kick in sooner and good if u plan on doin head work down the road. ;)
