d16z6 into a 91 civc -- hydro tranny into cable chassis

Has anyone fabricated a plate or a kit to allow using a d16 hydro tranny into a 91 civic? I've seen some people using the entire hydraulic system from another car but was wondering if there was a simpler way...

I've seen Hasport make it for the b-series but have not seen it for the d-series... Anyone seen it or use it?

buying a GOOD CRX si tranny = $200-250

Fabbing up all that is needed for a 92-00 hydro tranny = $1000 plus downtime

So for 4 CRX Si trannys that fit, you can have your car in a shop for 2-3 months while a new mount system is fabbed up, and still have less than best gearing.

Looks like I'll just be mating the cable tranny to the newer engine then...

Re: d16z6 into a 91 civc -- hydro tranny into cable chassis

a friend and i swapped a complete d16z6 with tranny into an 88 CRX standard. used the CRX driver side mount and fabricated up the rear and passenger side mount from pieces of stock mounts.

It was really a pain in the ass and not worth it at all IMO. in order to get the axles to line up, the tranny almost hits the rear subframe. Also, my friend was in a hurry to get it down and out of my garage, so he just made a bracket and hooked his clutch cable directly up to the slave cylinder "arm" on the tranny.. his clutch feels like a '32 ford pickup.

modify the pedals, fit a clutch MC, run hyd. line..........

modify the rear subframe crossmember, move the frame mount on the passenger side.

Yes, I've seen it done..........
