Yes you can do it.

Use the z6 timing belt, but its still going to be a half tooth off on timing.

If you want to run a p28, then you need to convert to obd1, you need the z6 distributor, 4 wire o2 and a conversion harness.

If your car isnt MPFI, then you need to convert to MPFI first before doing any of this.

assuming your car is already a EG. Keep your P06 ecu and have it converted to a p28. Theres a couple of members here who can do it for you for cheaper then what a p28 will run you. You'll just need a z6 dist and just add the wiring for the vtec solenoid. It's been covered 2 million times now since the last person posted. Just get the whole head and dist and intake mani and your set. Wiring up the vtec is the only wiring you have to do and if your car is a 92 then it's already wired for it.

I think Mista Bone mentioned something a few months ago with the "half a tooth off" timing issue for a z6/y8 head on a d15...if i remember right he said to use a timing gear off a 96+ d16 non-vtec and it would correct the half a tooth off problem. Do a search on it though anyway just to make sure. Or just get an adjustable cam gear. Personally i would rather take 10 minutes than blow $150 on something that i really didn't need.
