D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
hey im going to be picking up a Z6 here pretty soon and im going to put it in my crx just had a couple questions and wanted to make sure i didnt miss anything
i know i need the P28 and the Z6 distributor as well as the obd0 to obd1 wiring conversion and the vtec wiring i use the crx mounts on the Z6 correct? i guess thats really all there is to it, am i missing anything |
Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
almost forgot, will the A6 injectors be enough to run the Z6? are they the same cfm?
|
Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
same injector size
|
Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
should i use the A6 intake or the Z6?
i assume the Z6 has sensors that i need with the P28 |
Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
both have same sensors really up to you. I prefer the z6

Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
almost forgot
is it easy to incorporate a dash mounted CEL? |
Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
anything else i should know?
|
Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
going obd1 will require you to convert to a 4-wire o2 sensor too.
which u may need to buy. Map sensor from the EF (CRX) is on the firewall, the z6 intake manifold has it's own, on top of the throttle body |
Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
and i believe you take the driver side mount bracket of the a6 and put it on the z6 while still using the crx mount
|
Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
yeah those are both correct
anything else? |
Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
run the Z6 manifold AND injectors........
You'll need to extend some wiring......... MAP Sensor Fan Switch IACV should work, might have to change the plug though. |
Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
if i have the Z6 injectors ill run those if i dont ill just use the A6 ones with the box
|
Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions

Re: D16Z6 in a CRX Si, verification and questions
All 2 wire IACV use the same plug, Bone - no worries there.
Converting ED chassis to hydro tranny is not impossible - approx 3 hours work. To get 96+ steel shift fork gearbox - as well as the fact those gearboxes are miles + years fresher for about the same price - makes it seem like a worthwhile effort. |
