I thought they dropped right in. BoostedED9 has/had a D16Z6 in his rex. You should ask him. I don't see why it wouldn't drop right in as long as you had the right mounts for a CRX body.

ya i believe, BELIEVE, that you need the d16a6 mounts matted to the d16z6 engine. then you need to go to obd1, meaning different o2 and wires, uunless u stay w/ the pm6 stock ecu and add a vtec switch or maybe even a VAFC to control vtec.

its one of the most simple swaps you will ever do in your life. depends is it a DX or HF/SI CRX?

1) pull your old motor and trans out, put your old trans clutch/flywheel/pressure plate/tranny mounts on the z6

2) pull off the harmonic balancer on both motors

3) pull off timing covers on both

4) pull off the engine mount post on the z6 throw that away, put your old D15/d16 motor mount post onto the z6

5) use whatever Si manifold you plan to use (i use the a6 Si's for more air flow) leave the dizzy off.

6) put on the engine harness from your old motor (if you have a DX and you need me to step you thru how to wire to si then you can call or pm me)

7) put your motor in, hook all your linkages, axles, hubs, steering arms, exhaust.. etc up

hook up vtec depending on what you are using to control the vtec is up to you, this can be operated on anything that controls a (+)12v power supply (even a toggle swicth can work if your cheap, i used this on my first z6 i ever had)

9) get a dremel with a metal cutting round bit on it, grind out the insides of the top mounting bolt hole about 1/8" all the way around of your a6 dizzy (this will allow you to put the a6 dizzy onto your z6)

10) put on the dizzy to your new z6 in its new home.

11) make sure you haev oil and coolant in.

12) make sure all the wiring is connected (make sure the ground is hooked up on the engine harness, located by the rear radiator coolant feed or you will get no fuel delivery.)

13) fire that bad bitch up and DONT kick in vtec below 3900 (i learned this the hard way and bent all my intake valves)

14) make domestics know their role.

hope this helps you a lil bro, like i said if you need more help feel free to call my shop or pm me.

what he said.... its basically a straight up swap just a few things have to be changed, mounts, injectors, dizzy, tranny, clutch, harness, and i think that was it.. then rig up something for vtec and htere ya go...

When I did my Z6 swap into my 90 STD Hatch I just completely swapped the entire harness from a 95 into the 90. I had no other choice but I think it was worth the extra trouble becuase I can keep the OBD1 computer with all the VTEC fuel maps and now I'm wired for power windows.
