d16y8 swap into cx hatch

:)
hi guys and gals i am new here, after a long journey with two gsr's and two turbo kits ( max rev, greddy) that never got installed on either gsr due too money issues always popping up or other bull ---- where i sold the kits , i now have a 98 cx hatch , my most recent kit that i sold was a greddy b series that i was gonna drop on a ls swap , but have no time or money for a ls swap right now.

So here is where i need help .... i plan on doing a y8 swap into this hatch and running a custom kit on it with maybe afc hackarooski, or emanage or maybe even afc with fmu.
But first things first, i have been looking for swaps and i see some that are 98's and some 2k swaps these are my questions , hopefully you guys can help me out ( i searched a bit but i found mostly mini me info on eg's)

1. can i use my cx axles and shift linkage with teh y8 swap?

2.I know i can either add wires to my cx harness or change the whole thing to an ex...is that really worth the headache and money or can i just add my wires

3. too the post above , if i get a 2000 swap are teh harness's and ecu different or are they the same

4. Does anyone know if the y7 tranny bell housing will fit on a y8 tranny?(78 tranny mounting points is broke on the housing
any help would be great guys thx a bunch

Re:d16y8 swap into cx hatch

axles and linkage should work no prob, just use the y8 harness if you can get it with the swap (although adding in the wires shouldnt be hard at all), i think the 98-00 ecus are different than 96-7, though im not sure on the years exactly...bellhousings im not sure on but i would assume they are the same

is there anything wrong with the y7?...im in the market for one if you want to sell

Yes, 100% bolt up

2.I know i can either add wires to my cx harness or change the whole thing to an ex...is that really worth the headache and money or can i just add my wires

Get the motor and see what wires u have to add/move. and do whatever you determine is easier for you

Ya, sometime in the middle of the 6g civics the added air injection into the intake manifold. Just make sure that the ecu/motor/wiring are all of the same obd2a/b.

tranny should bolt straight on. But won't have the ideal gearing for vtec/acceleration (cx have LOOOONG gears)

thx a bunch for the info man, but on the tranny question what i meant to say is, the tranny housing is broken ( where the tranny mount goes it got broke) so can i just take the broken housing off and will my y7 tranny housing fit on the y8 tranny?

trying to remember off my head but it should. just one of 96+ trans use a main shafts with a wider roller bearing...and that gave it a little diff bump at the end. but just look at the 2....if the housing is the same......use it. i dont see no harm. i do it all the time...but mostly for s20's. good luck
