D16y7 to D16y8
i am putting a turbo on my d16y7 motor in my 1996 honda civic dx!!! i was looking to add vtec to my motor!!! i have the head off a d16y8 and a vtec solinoid!! i still need the ecu!!! i was wonder what all i would need to do to turn my d16y7 into a d16y8 with vtec!! any suggestions would be a great help!!!

search. its kinda a pain to put a VTEC head and ECU in a D16y7 car but i can be done ( its all in the wiring)

My car originally came with a d16y7, I blew the motor up. I bought a y8 block and a z6 head, and Onyx did all the wiring - they are almost completely different (its pathetic) I mean from little things like the 3 wire TPS, etc, etc. Be sure that if you're slapping a y8 head on there that you go ahead and find a y8 intake manifold, and slap it on as well. You should be able to get one fairly cheap. |

but you could do a mini me and use a VAFC to cotroll VTEC. that would be the easiest ways to do it. and keep the y7 intake.
