d16y7 block on d16z6 head

I put on my HMT kit last year and my stock block is not cutting it, I have a D16Z6 in a eg hatch, I found a good deal on a built D16Y7 block ,I was woundering if I could swap the Z6 head over to the Y7 block will I still able to use my hydro tranny? also is the swap pretty much strait forward, what head gasket, clutch, waterpump, oilpump etc would I want to use. any info would be usefull, thank you!

the block already has arp head studs in them, can't I just use all of the y7 studs, where is the one z6 stud go?

as you look in your engine bay it is the top left bolt hole.
z6 head has a step there

never tried arp studs
hopefully they work, otherwise be ready for some thread pulling

Re: d16y7 block on d16z6 head

I was wrong, the block is out of a 91 civic so is that a a6? I want to put a z6 head on it, will that still work, can I use the z6 water pump and timming belt also?

Re: d16y7 block on d16z6 head

yes it should be a6 if it was a Si model. You can use the z6 water pump. And whatever head you used on a block. You always use the timing belt from the head. So in your case, yes z6 timing belt.
