d16y7
is a y7 a ok motor to build? strengths/weaknesses compared to other d16's? i might be getting one dirty cheap or possibly free and attempting a budget build for boost. is the y8 head alot better? id rather not go with a vtec head unless theres a worthwhile gain in flow or somthing.

New to the site --- but this is a good topic to post on.
Just boosted my 98 civic d16y7 motor this past wk-end. Runs strong, and was a very easy conversion minus a couple of small hold ups...like getting that nasty 14 code to clear (iavc)...pretty sure its just a bad sensor at this point though we shall see - havn't been able to locate a replacement yet

Re: d16y7
word. do the ports match? how bout a z6 manifold, i think i know where to get one cheap.. the y7 manifold really doesnt seem that bad, it looks like it would flow even they way it spits off from the middle, but it does have small runners i guess
