D16A9 tuning advice??
 

do you guys get many D16A9's in the states? does anyone have any tuning advice specific to this engine code? i.e. tried and tested stuff.... I have done most the basics

On a stock Honda, their really isnt that much you can "tune" with other than timing adjustments, you can advance it a few degrees if you like, it wont hurt it all, especially with the octane you are running over their. Maybe if you had some Cam gears and a adjustable fuel pressure regulator you could do some of that. But that stuff is very minimal and hard for the ass dyno to even tell if adjustments are doing good or bad. Best way is always on a dyno, but sometimes that can be a bit expensive.

Btw, I bet we hardly have any d16a9's over here at all, I have never seen one in the states, and I have worked with tons of motors. Just because they are EDM motor, and I dont see why we would get one. The ZC is basically the same exact thing (JDM)

cheers, u dont know any tweeks for the ZC then?
ive seen on ebay a "resistor" for sale which says it'll do the same as chipping my car, not sure if its entirely believable thou i can see what their getting at thou. where theres a gain theres almost always a loss. I tried this on my Civic and if anything it made it slower but louder..... Mmmmm but then being a 1.4 its sluggish anyway. does the CRX have an air intake sensor? if so i cant find it, unless this is the TPS sensor?
we have 95 and 98 ron fuel over here so do u know how much it is safe to advance by? i have a timing light but will prob do it by trial and error...
