Default D16a6 stuck cam?

Well, i went to a machine to get my a6 head resurface only. And before you know it. I went to pick up the a6 head and the guys there hot tanked the head without taking the cams, rocker arms, etc off. I was wondering since i saw some rust, if it would cause the cam to be stuck. I tried turning the cam gear by hand but it wont moved. I even tried using a piece of rod to move the cam gear. It wont moved at all. Well before taking the head to the machine shop. The car overheated and so i had to remove the head to get to the head gasket. I also have a z6 head that i tried turning by hand. It turns so easily. So what can cause this? What should i do?

either way the head needs stripped down, the valve seal along with all the other rubber seals are JUNK now. Including the spark tube o rings.

indeed, after hot-tanking the valve seals are going to be garbage. Just take off all the 12mm bolts that hold all the valve train on. Becareful when taking it off, the valvetrain will want to seperate from each other. Your best off getting a full valve grind now, and getting the head all done up. Or just junk the head and go with your Z6.

My friend Dave rigged a WOT switch off a Volvo to control another friend's VTEC, who was too cheap to go in for the correct fix. We called it Dave VTEC, much superior to JDM VTEC

Thank GAWD that the non-VTEC valvecover slips right on. I'm sure you can find someplace that either doesn't recognize the solenoid, or is willing to pretend they don't.

I think the spark plug wires would be a dead giveaway...... since a A6/B7 has the plugs in the back, Z6 has the plugs in the front......
