D16A6 help
Ok, im putting my stock D16A6 back into my 91 Civic. Anyways i get the motor in with out the rocker arm assembly on and the pistons moved freely. I put the rocker arm assembly back together and on. I stopped working on it for about a month and put the car outside in the cold and now i can't rotate the motor or the cam shaft, i disconnected the timing belt and tried to rotate the motor and it feels like it's stuck(like i over tightened the rod bolts, which i didn't because i did that before i put the motor in and fixed it.). I was using a 5 foot breaker bar tighting up the crank shaft bolt so much it felt like if tightened it anymore it would snap. So i go to rotate the motor and it just lossens the bolt. I tried using the starter to rotate the motor and it couldn't do it either(I pulled the plugs out too). Ugh i don't know what to do, any suggestions, should i rip the ------- head back off? >:(

Re:D16A6 help
Did you try rotating the crank clockwise so the bolt doesn't come loose and did you try putting the car in gear and pushing it?

Re:D16A6 help
Yeah it felt like the bolt was gonna snap if i went anymore. No i haven't tried pushing it, maybe ill give that a try, isn't it really hard to push it in gear?

Re:D16A6 help
I'm not exactly sure, but I know I was moving my car when I had it in gear trying to tighten the crank pulley bolt. I think you should be able to push it if you have the spark plugs out. If you can't get help.

Acouple other things i remembered, i honned out the cyclinder walls and didn't put oil on the walls when i was done and just installed the pistons. Second is there is no oil in the motor at all and the temps have been ranging here from 60 to -25 so i might have got condensation in the cyclinders and they might have rusted, maybe? I guess i rip off the head and oil pan lossen the rob bolts and see whats up. Damnit! |
