would a d16a6 drop straight in to a d15b7 angine bay and bolt up to a d15b7 trany

It will bolt in fine. You will have to do some wiring changes from obd0 to obd1.

do i have to replace my ecu and wire harnes? any chance you have a link where i can read about it and/or learn how to do it?

If you use the car-correct distributor and thermostat housing, it is practically a bolt in.
The differences in the engines are 100ccs, and camshaft. You can run either engine on the other's program just fine, although I do recommend tuning to suit. *shrug* |
