d16 project!
I have a d16 I dont know what kind. Its on the EG body non-vtec. 75x90mm bore and stroke. I know the compression is around 10:1.
If I do the block posting shoould I sleeve it and hone? Or sleeve, hone and posting? Plan to put the (d16???) piston that is 9:1(dont know what model). What you guys think with a t3/t4 deltagate2, fmic spearco,450dsm injectors, b16T/B, inline drag 3 pump, vafc hack, and ported head. Planning to boost 8psi. What do you think the power it will produce. Planning to use a wideband o2 sensor. The engine will be pulled out this week! Thanks in advance! |
Re:d16 project!
for 8psi u dont need to sleeve/post it. only 13+

Re:d16 project!
Yup, just to be safe. I want to bring the engine back to stock specs. Plus we have a hot climate.
What you guys think about the things Im planning to do? |
Re:d16 project!
well.. if u want to be safe put some rods/rod bolts and all that in there to..
do the posting if u are worried, its relatively cheap to do yourself, but sleeving is not. |
Re:d16 project!
well, i get the sleeve cheap. what you guys think about d16 9:1 CR. t3/t4 at 8psi, 450dsm, inline pump, port and polish head, block posting. maybe 10psi in the track? how my hp could I get minimim and maximum?
|
Re:d16 project!
SAFC for tuning? Id say at 8psi you'd get around 180-200whp.
10psi, maybe 200-230 |
Re:d16 project!
okay, thanks! Ill be taking the engine apart this week and let you know. any suggestions

Re:d16 project!
About the block posting, do I need to get the exact same material as the engine block. Or i could use regular alloy pins at the hardware? could I use metal epoxy? whats jb weld?
|
Re:d16 project!
Use the same alloy as the block, so it heats/contracts the same amount or you will get sleeve distortion. Use a high temp epoxy.. JB weld sucks, I have a small leak :-\
