i have a question...
does the pistons and rods in d16a8/9(zc) engine the same that in d16a6 and d16z6 engines?

The A6/ZC rods are the same, the Z6 rods are different. They are still interchangable.

 

I have a a6 and z6 rod right in front of me, and they are pretty much identicle. What is different about them?

 

I've just been told the Z6 rods are stronger, which, you'd prob. know better than me... I perfer to have the little jap guy at honda build my engines vs Billy-bob at billy bobs racing, so I don't see too many rods...

I do know the SOHC rods look like they belong in a geo metro !!! We put way more power though those things then I'd ever think we could get away with..

i´m building a turbo d16a8/9 engine, and i don´t know what pistons and rods to use...anyone have some ideas?

A6 flat
ZC/tegra domed high compression.

Basiclly

Every cylinder head has a different Combustion camber volume which changes compression too.

 

the reason why im asking this is that i can find forged pistons and rods for d16a8/9 engine, so im thinking in purchasing some that are compatible.
