Are D16 and B16 dizzy parts compatible?
My swap won't start.
It cranks, but there's no spark. It appears the wiring is OK, and I don't have any codes. I measured, and there's a current on the dizzy connector when I crank the car. ...so I suspect a broken dizzy, or rotor or something. Can I test this with my D16Z5 (1990 ZC) dizzy, before I buy expensive parts, and find out thet it's something else. |
Re:Are D16 and B16 dizzy parts compatible?
i dont think the b series parts are interchngable with d series parts

Re:Are D16 and B16 dizzy parts compatible?
Some D-series parts work in B-series as long as the two are Obd-0. I dont think any d-series have crank angel sensors in the distributor, but coil and ignitor work.

the ignitor and coil are hte exact same part number in OBD 1/2 d's and b's

Exactly.. most of the internals are the same (if same obd level) but... talk to turbohf, he put a B16 distributor on a D16z6, said it fit right in No problems.. I'm wondering if it work the other way around..?? never tried myself

Re:Are D16 and B16 dizzy parts compatible?
I have used d16a6 obd 0 dizzy on b18a, in a 1991 crx ran with no probs, the dizzys appear to be the same, no probs running at all.
