D15B8 help

Whats up guys, new member here. Also new to hondas. Had a question about my friend's 92 civic cx hatch. From what others have told me, he has the d15b8 engine with like 72 horsepower (thing struggles to keep up with traffic). I've heard of these mini-me swaps but don't really know what they are. Would we be better off doin that and boostin it or just swap in a b18b1 from an integra and going n/a with that? Also, the car is unfortunetly auto. We are going to have to convert it to 5 spd also. Any ideas of what to do? He has about 1500-2000 to spend. We are in the Bristol, CT area about 20 mins from Hartford if anyone wants to help. This will be happeneing in a few months. Thanks for the input guys.

Pete

I have a 92 CX with a Mini-me; I'd say go with a full motor swap. You can probably get a Z6 or Y8 complete swap for under $600 if you look around..or the B1 would even work. My car is definetly faster than the shitty 70 HP B.S., but nothing earth shattering. It smokes and needed a lot more than I thought to get it running decently. You have to worry about buying a good head, getting all the component pieces together (which is a lot of new gaskets, bolts, and etc that build up). Most worth your money would be the whole shebang.

You have the funds, so go with the b18 swap. Then little by little, piece together a turbo kit for the future.
