d15b2 head with 91 d16a6 cam
I have a dpfi d15b2 engine and im doing a mpfi swap to it and I was wondering if I put the d16a6 si cam in the d15 head, Do I have to adjust valve springs or lash or what ever or just put it in???? If anything what has to be done??

Re: d15b2 head with 91 d16a6 cam
reset lash and use a 96+ Y5/7/8 cam gear to cure the 1/2 cam timing issue.

Re: d15b2 head with 91 d16a6 cam

Re: d15b2 head with 91 d16a6 cam
Ok, well obviously, the valve lash will have to be reset because the A6 cam has a different profile (larger lobes) and you will need to accomodate for that. If you don't adjust them, the valvetrain will most likely be noisy and will result in damage The other thing Bone is talking about is the fact that using the A6 cam and gear, the result will put you a half a tooth off in the timing. Using a Y series cam gear will correct this. You timing will be off if you don't fix this.

Re: d15b2 head with 91 d16a6 cam
Thanks for explaining that for me. I will adjust it for the cam. Do you know if the 1/2 of is retard or advance cause its going to be N/a so im probably going to advance the timming a little anyway? And does anyone know what it has to be reset at?
