d15 vtec ur opion's?

i am looking into getting a d15 jdm vtec motor i was wondering how strong the motor is and how well it will perform

15.4 in my 88crx si, stock car, stock motor, minus a header. Even with stock exhaust w/ cat and that was spinning most the way through first.
