I have a usdm d15 crank and d16 eagle rods with high comp pistons


can i put the d15 crank in the y8 block or will the piston heads be 2 high?

 

crank is not interchangable.

whats wrong with the y8 crank?

 

the y8 crank what balanced all wrong by the machne shop and the rod was knocking everywhere inside the block

my bearings looked like they were shedding their copper leaves

all the bearings had damage to some extent, crank is nice and rough now

 

did they pay for it?

 

i dought they will

i put everything together so they are probably gonna blame me


ive learned my lesson really, dont balance ---- that way u wont lose much money

i shoulda noitced in the beginning when the pulley would wobble when i would floor it...didnt look right

 

post a wanted ad for y8 crank. if you were in socal, i have a z6 crank. get the journals polished and check the specs. the crank might still work with oversized bearings.

crank throw to high for d15 block.

 

It's going into a D16 block ... his Y8 crank was balanced wrong.....that's why I would never let the crank get balanced if it wasn't knife edged ..... Honda cranks are perfectly balanced from the factory....
