D series transmissions
 

Hey guy's I might be doing a swap in my 91 hatch soon but I am wanting to swap my lame 4 speed STD tranny at the same time :P. My question is, if I found a D series 5 speed cable tranny it should fit the D series engine that I'll be swapping in, even though it had a Hydro tranny, right?

if you are going to the eng with the hydro trany, you will be able to use the cable 5sp. trany, but you will also have to get a clutch for the same trany. because the 4sp and 5sp have different main shaft. 98ctr

I would have hoped he was plannin on a new clutch while he had it all apart anyways! ;)

Yup new clutch is in the plans. I'mm give Mike (88turbocrx) a yell again because I have one of his clutches in ym TurboIntegra and I love it :)
