d series rods

I hear the rods on a d are weak. What exactly is weak the bolts stretching or the rod its self. I have a sohc zc and am wanting to run about 8 pound do I have to do anything to the rods? Or will just staying away from detonation do the trick. I am planning on using e85 and staying low on the ignition timing.

the rods themselves are weak, you detonate on them and they bend/break...

Yea, but not before the pistons ---- them selfs. OP, psi means nothing, what kinda of turbo you going with. Most sohc can take around 220hp on a good tune.

d ros suck in all aspects. but ya they are good for a daily beating of about 200whp or so depending on your setup.
