d series rod bearings
What is the best place I can get d series rod bearings? Should I just go to Napa and get some oem replacements or is there a better and or cheaper way? thanks for the help.

OEM if you willing to spend the money for a proper buildup. But ACL greens works great too. Just spec them out with plastigage. Replace the ones that are not within spec. But last time i changed the bearings. It all falls into specs with the ACL's. Thumbs up for the ACL

You can find the Number stamped on the rod, and the letter stamped on the crankshaft, oh and BUY A GOD DAMN HAYNES MANUAL!!!

i got rock brand rings/rod bearings/main bearings from a local machine shop for $105. very high quality bearings for the price. i would only use taiho/daido (OEM honda), the clevite 77, ACL, or the rock bearings. no vandervall glacier or any other ----.
but imo, the clevites are too hard for a turbo setup (if thats what you're doing), its too hard to accurately narrow the clearances down using them.

Really, how do you figure that for the Clevites? I was under the ASSumption that they were sized green like the ACLs.
I liked the old Vandervell tri-metals, had a wee pile of those NOS for the Triumph junk I used to play with. Shame they don't make those anymore.
Ever used King Alecular bi-metal? I've pulled a couple sets of those out of $$$ builds... one of which had the crank turned 25 thou! On a Honda!
