d series basemap

the closest tuner to me is about 3.5 hours away and i dont feel like towing my car because gas prices are like 3.25. so is it possible to drive that far on a basemap?

Sure I guess if you stay out of boost. And if you have a decent sized turbo and not a tiny instant spooling one you should be out of boost on the highway at cruising speeds anyway.

self control is your best option and get ready to piss people of on the high way.

And lots of snacks because that 3.5 hour trip is gonna turn into a 5 hour trip. Been there, done it, and it deff sucks.

Re: d series basemap

It all depends on the basemap you have.. Few of us locals have basically modified basemaps a little.. They run great.. But yeah if your worried then stay the ---- out of boost and you should be straight as long as your basemap wasnt written by a idiot.. Check xenocrons site and get the closest configuration for your setup.. Then just modify injector size if you have to..

Its not that hard

install stock injectors

install stock ecu

remove a charge pipe

charge pipe and your golden

yeah that's all good till the turbo spools up and has no restriction and over spins :1

the better idea would be doing all that and then blocking the wastegate open somehow

My friend has been driving around his LS-CRX on a basemap for like a year now...no problems and no detonation...it just runs really rich. Just get a rich basemap burnt, and drive the thing there with no worries.

Re: d series basemap

its not good to drive around on a basemap especially if your doing some hard pulls hopefully your friend has more self control than me

Re: d series basemap

He doesn't, but then again, it's a junkyard LS motor that already had scratches in the cylinder walls, so who gives a fack.

It's actually running on a "modified" basemap from xenocron, so it's kinda like a semi-tuned basemap.
