D engine and tranny potential

I have searched around a lot. and i have yet to come up with solid proof.

I have a D16z6. I have found that this engine (along with other Ds) can only hold 225hp on stock internals and in other places 200 and even lower yet... Now looking at some of the cars on here that would mean some are almost at their breaking point or.. over the breaking point which means their cars are already dead but they dont know it.. i know that the longevity of the engine is dependent upon regular maintainance and that each engine is a little different.. blah. blah. i am just looking for what the engine (lets say brand new to make it easy) is rated at for the max handling power.

Along with the engine. I am trying to find out how the trans would hold up. what are they rated at for max handling? how powerful of a clutch can you put in a stock tranny (ie stage 1,2+) before you should rebuild?

(i put this in this post.. since a turbo significantly increases the hp... :) )

Re:D engine and tranny potential

this should maybe be in hybrid, but i dont think its a big deal....anyway, the general consensus seems to be about 200-220 for the mighty sohc, but there have been exceptions (boosteded9 hit 302). I think most importantly tuning comes into play, but the way you drive has an effect as well. Either way, above 220 im sure you will eventually have problems, since your rods are about the size of my pinky (not a joke at all). The tranny should be fine, but hondas are notorious grinders anyway so if thats a problem now its only gonna get worse. Hope that helped.
