D building...again

Ok, so I want to build up a D and beat the local record of 469 WHP, prolly corrected or some bullshit, but I want to break it. I need something to get it to the ground and I need ideas of how to not just spin the ---- out of the tires.

What is recommended transmission-wise to do this?
