Cx or EX/SI wiring harness?
So I bought a cx with a z6 swap in it and the guys before me hacked it up pretty bad. So I want to clean this thing up and get it running properly.
Here is what I have: 95 cx civic p28 ECU stock D16z6 cx transmision cx wiring harness Now Vtec needs to be wired up and I think the oil pressure switch or w/e the green plug is, near the vtec solenoid needs to be hooked up along with some other crap I imagine. I haven't fully gone through the car, but I plan on pulling the motor probably. My question: Should I stick with the stock cx wiring harness and just find the plugs I need and wire it up? Or should I just buy a z6 harness and install that? Would that even work properly with the underdash harness? This is my first major project here so I am learning as I go, just looking for a little guidance. Thanks guys. |
Re: Cx or EX/SI wiring harness?
Rewire it yourself. Buying entire motor harnesses is risky b/c you have no idea if the harness has problem, and they usually sell for a LOT.
Even if you did buy the harness for the vtec motor, you would still need to run wires to the ecu. |
Re: Cx or EX/SI wiring harness?
i would just swap the harness if its fucked... and i have...
you can swap damn near any harness into that car.. i have a 00 GSR harness in my 93 CX... you just need to run the extra wires from the ECU to the strut tower plug... there is a stickied thread at the top of the 92-00 Civic Forum on H-T with all the pin locations.... |
Re: Cx or EX/SI wiring harness?

Re: Cx or EX/SI wiring harness?
Haynes/Chiltons books are useless...go with the free online Honda Shop Manuals on PDF...they are great.
