My car wont rev past 1500rpm
dx to si swap 3 years ago running fine
distib fine
wireing looks fine
i tried to plug in a throtle body and crank it open while i hit the gas but still rev to 1500
think it would make a diff if the throtle body wasnt on the manifold just in my hand
come on guys.

i will mail a canadian doller to whoever gets me my fix

 

i UNPLUGED THE TPS SENSOR AND PLUGED IT INTO A TPS SENSOR ON A DIFERNT THROTLEBODY SITTING IN MY HAND. i W.O.T. THE TPS SENSOR IN MY HAND AND HIT THE GAS IN THE CAR TO SEE IF IT WOULD GIVE ENUFF FUEL TO REV UP BUT THE THROTTLEBODY WASNT BOLTED TO THE MANIFOLD IT WAS JUST IN MY HAND.

AND THE DOLLER WAS A JESTURE OF APRECIATION

 

so you tried starting a car without a throttle body? I think you might have a vacuum leak. Common sense man come on

 

I have a throtle body on the car im just using anotherone to check if it was a prob with the tps sensor

 

thats what the ecu is for

no codes for a sensor, sensor fine. Thats the whole design behind that wierd non rational idea I guess. Makes it tough to troubleshoot when like a code 10 pops up. You say well thats iat code but I think its the o2 thats the problem. Holy ----

 

9 10 and 14 is what i got
but i had them for a while, i was giggiling the tps wires when the car first shut off
but every thing looks good
i have 5v ref
i have continuity to ground
BUT MY OUTPUT IS 4V TO 4.5V THATS TO HIGH.
IT SHOULD BE LIKE .5V AT CLOSED THRIOTTLE
THATS Y IM LOOKING INTO THE TPS SENSOR
CODE 9 IS #1 CYL SENSOR
I TRIED 2 OTHER DISTRIBS AND THE SAME THING HAPPENS

 

its your wiring then. those codes are the problem not the tps.

 

IM GETTING A CONTINUITY TO GROUND IN THE 2 wires of the sensor, should i be?
