crx vtec install
i just dot a 89 crx dx with the d15b2 and i was wondering if i could just put a vtec head and run the vtec wiring and oil lines. or if i have to do any thing else.so basically just wondering if a y8 or z6 head will bolt on and all i have to do is run the lines and wires i have experience working on hondas but i just need to know if it will need alterations to the block or head bolts locations.i read that you need a new water and oil pump but i dont know if i believe that any help will be appreciated

Re: crx vtec install
You don't need to replace the oil pump, but you can, you should do the water pump seeing how you'll have all that off to replace the timing belt. Your also going to need to swap from DPFI to MPFI, and then hookup VTEC.

Re: crx vtec install
why would i need to swap to mpfi for the fuel mapping?because im going to use an electronic injector controller to deal with that the (sds eic). i have the manifold and all the ---- from an ex to do a mpfi swap but ive been puttting it off because im not to good with the wiring harness. for the vtec im going to use an msd rpm window switch to activate my vtec and set it at 4krpm. and use the injector controller to kick in at 3750rpm right befor the vtec and once i turbo it i can tune it better

www.-------------, specifically these 2 items:
OBD-1 VTEC ECU:
http://www.-------------/products.php?page=chipped-ecu
OBD-0 to OBD-1 conversion harness:
http://www.-------------/products.php?page=convharness
If your not interested in tuneing right away you can just use a stock P28 and have it chipped later if you need to.
