Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

the engine doesn't even fit under the hood of a CRX, its too tall. :-\

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

I think it's kewl put an fmu on it and you're good to go.

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

why would you do the A2, and not the a4 from the type-s. it can be done, just gonna have to cut a hole in your hood. my friend is doing it in his EG hatch,

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

a guy threw one in a del sol, and it fit fine under the hood

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

i saw the one hasport did. i think it had a k24a4 in it from an accord.the k20a2 comes from a rsx-s.

i would love to have one of these swaps in about any honda, but i dont like the idea of having to modify the pass. side mount so much.

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

yeah they arent cheap, but hopefully they will be like anything else and come down in price over time.

mahcivic 01-30-2005 03:55 PM

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

my firend is buying a complete swap for about 2grand...think is he bought a wrecked rsx type-s at an auction. says its cheaper to do that than buy a jdm motor

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

Sounds like a lot of work and a waste of time. Just go sleeved B and boost the ---- out of it.

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

I'm wondering why people are referencing egs and del sols when he clearly asked about a crx.

if you have the time and money, go for it. pacman from the dreaded H-T has some sort of k20a in a crx of his, with itbs, and k-pro tuned. it is quick.

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

Look up "allmotorpacman" on Honda-Tech. He's got a K20 in a CRX. I'm not sure how well it would fit though, he's running ITBs and had to cut up the hood to make it work. I'd love to have a K20 in my DC since it's got a lot of potential as an NA engine, but as mentioned, it's $$$$$. I think I'm just gonna boost instead and still be able to hang ;D

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

A K20 swap isn't any harder than an h22 swap. Its not like there's any hardcore fabrication involved, just wiring and turning bolts

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

prolly gonna be cool but you can make an equivelint for the same price but not as unique as k20 i guess

Semnos 01-31-2005 09:21 PM

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

For the price I'd rather sleeeve and build a B-series block and boost it..and spank that K-series..

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

Pfft. Why would you want to go through with something like that? Honestly, it's a waste of money. The swap would be overpriced in the end.

Like the other people are saying, sleeve a B and boost it. It just seems easier and better financially.

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

I beleive pacman's setup was running around 11.9 all motor.

Hasport is suppose to release a mount kit for the k series into a CRX in late January (wait isnt if feb?), but they seem to be having a little trouble with it. They mentioned having to change some stuff on their current design or something.

These motors will probaly get much cheaper as they are used in more up and coming models. Honestly I can't wait to see how they do boosted and/or stroked. And at about the same weight as a B series setup. (heard mixed data about weights)

Check out k20a.org

If money wasn't an issue I wouldn't be driving a Honda. Money is always an issue so the K swap really isn't worth it until they come down in price as the motors become more available

i thought he just sold the crx shell and kept the motor. well atleast that what i heard. and to the creator the K20A is the type r motor the k20a2 is from a 02 civic si i think

Re:CRX-K20 A2 TYPE R

2001 Integra RSX
Type S
(DC5)
K20A2

2001 Integra RSX
(DC5)

2002 Civic Si
(EP3)
K20A3

I was thinking about doing this but for the money you spend on getting that done you could have a pretty built B in there
