i just picked up a 90 crx hf and there was some damage to the right front. the front cross member is jacked!
will the one from my 90 dx hb fit in it.

i know the frame is bent. the pass front strut tower is kinda bent in funky and obvious damage to the front cross member. can it be pulled out and straightend? and how much would it cost?

i believe the cross member will fit fine. Engine mounts are direct bolt on swaps from hf to si to dx so why wouldnt the c/m fit exactly too?

as for straightening the frame, very possible. Not all, but some body shops have a special alignment frame stand that the put your car on. Then they attach 1 chain to each corner and pull the car straight. Call around your area.

Re:crossmember

Most all crossmembers from the EF Chasis will work (2nd Gen CRX's and 4th gen Civics) my front cross is from a 90' civic (on an 89 CRX)

thats the good news, the bad news is that if one cross is that bad then the other one is too (their are 2 crossmembers in front of the firewall: one in front of the engine and one in back). The cross members have built in "crumple" zones and tweak very easily.

Replace your front and then drive down to a frame shop for an estimate to establish exactly what is tweaked. They'll charge you (usually about 40$) but they'll give you a list of parts that need to be replaced in order to correct the problem. Then off to the wrecking yard.

After that take your car back in to have it straightened. this doesnt take much. As for cost expect 3-500. Or if it isnt that bad then pick up a frame jack and get a buddy who knows how to use it.
