crazy strange electrical issue

went to tune a car today, ran into something new and exciting.

before i get started here, specs...

97 gs-r
obd2-1 harness
370cc high impedance injectors
small nissan t3 (i know)
basic log mani hmt style setup

1. got there, timed the car, gapped some new ngk's, went out on some test runs and started tuning.
2. during last run started noticing his tach was dying out and speedo was too.
3. stop to check it out, couldnt find anything, and car was acting normal again
4. drive it back to his house, shut it off to inspect further just to be safe
5. try to start the car again so we can go fine tune part throttle and call it a day, car wont start

Here is what it does do

1. Cranks over
2. Fires up and immediately dies

Here is what it doesn't do

1. no power windows
2. no clock
3. no fuel pump prime or dash warning lights

Upon further investigation

1. fuse panel not getting power on over half the fuses
2. all fuses in under hood fuse panel have power

Not sure what this could be. Already checked every fuse, not 1 is blown. Tested another ECU in the car as well as tested the ECU's in my car, not the problem. Tested my main relay from my car in his car, not the problem. Checked all connections under hood to make sure none were unplugged or anything. All plugs and grounds/power wires were AOK.

IDEAS?

That sounds like a ground to me. T-stat one will do some wierd things if not perfect.

I would go over the grounds again for peace of mind

yeah all grounds, battery to body, body to trans, body to valve cover, t-stat...checked em all.

the guy already figured the problem.

the contacts on the electrical portion of the key switch in the column were actually so dirty that it was pulling over 120 ohms of resistance through the connections. factory spec is like .3 ohms. cleaned up the contacts and it works perfectly.
