Crank Pulley Questions!?! Power Steering Questions?!?

Well, I'm going to change my timing belt and thought...

Since I'm taking off the crank pulley why not put a lightened one on?

This is the dilema; Should I bother? What company? Has anyone here had experience with underdrive/lightened pulleys? Should I get an alternator only pulley? If I do the crank pulley only would it be beneficial if I don't change the cam gears, or should I do them as well?

ALSO, if I do change the crank and/or cam gears I might want to remove the power steering. I don't know much about power to manual rack conversions. What I've seen and read about I require a manual rack (nothing for honda's but other jap cars). But what is the donor? Is it possible to just cap the lines at the rack gears?

As you can see I'm a little lost here....

nfo about the car...
Del sol VTEC model
LS block (JDM 98' don't think that makes a difference tho)
LS Alternator
Stock P30 (B16A3) Head, Power steering Pump and rack

well if your gonna remove your ac or power steering, yea i would invest in a new pulley. why - well 1 there lighter, i mean very lighter and 2 just get a single belt pulley, instead of having 2 extra and they also work better with forced induction :D perfect for your HMT setup
but if you are gonna get a lighter pulley i would only recomend "unorthodox racing pulleys"
this will better explain

this is a 3 belt pulley

and this is my very sexy 1 belt :-*

they may caust more, but well worth it ;)

Okay so that solves the pulley issue, but what about the power steering? Do I grab a crx unit? I don't even know if non-power steering civics where sold in canada after 91, or if an older one would bolt up. hmmm anyone have any sugestions?

Just pull all that ---- off the block and take the hose and tie the fucker back.

Thats what I did.No real need to change annything unless you have time and money.

How is boosting going to effect your accessory pulley? That is impossible. The effects are....

1. possible burn out of alternator due to underdrive
2. belts falling off from improper size
3. poor results from power steering due to underdrive
4. power increase from less rotational mass
5. power increase from drive gear ratio change

your buddy should read more....

But if anyone has ANY nfo regarding the rack swap or the crank pulley changes that would be greatly appreciated.

Just some quick info on the crank pulley: Not worth the money and hassle of removing. The machanic that installed mine (on a '93 Accord) had to use a torch to heat up the crank bolt in order to "release the thread lock". I watched him do it, it took about 50 minutes and I did not feel any gain. It also underdrives my underdrive pulleys, which I can tell with my alternator.
