Default Coolant temp sensor on a6 but not b7 block?

So I granaded the a6 block and after removal, i noticed there is what seems to be a coolant temp sensor next to the oil pressure sensor. The b7 block doesnt have this. Im running a p28, and im unsure how to hook this back up. Theres one coolant sensor in the head which is for the guage i believe but the one in the block is for the ecu right? I will also be putting the z6 head on the b7 block that i pulled off the blown motor, and is there anything different Id have to do in this mini-me swap than when I originally put the z6 head on the a6 block?

Thanks guys, I will have carnage pics up later. The rod sheared, but pretty much no damage to piston (except the the skirt broke off when the rod whacked it) and head had 2 bent valves. Replaced them, lapped them in, and the guides/seats looked to be in great shape. Unsure as to why it let loose, no major signs of detonation as far as i can tell, a/f was about 14 cruising, 13 to 12.5 wot (thats about wheres it supposed to be right lol) and had it at 7-7.5 psi. The block did have 193k miles, but I did a re-ring and put new bearings in 18k miles ago. Any guesses?
