Compression suggestions
I'm running a 91 CRX Si with at b16a1 swap, I would like some comments on the build that i'm going to be doing or if any one has any alternate suggestions for me would be great.
Head Work: Port and polish including 3 angle valve job Skunk2 stage 2 turbo cams Crower valves springs and retainers Lower end: SRP forged pistons with forged connecting rods .20 oversized My question here is what compression ratio should i go with to see best results with this setup Turbo: I'm not sure yet i've been doing some research probably t3/t4 area |
Re: Compression suggestions
9 or 10 flat no more for a DD.

Re: Compression suggestions
I have personally ran 13:1 on 94 pump gas all day long in a b18a w/ PCT and head milling.
Currently have a 12.5:1 n/a sohc d on pump gas also. Both mind you, are/were DD. it all depends on where you live(what quality and octane fuel you can get), How well you can tune ( or how well your tuner can tune),and what duration your cams or cam in my case ;) is. The bigger the cam, more duration= more compression bleed. In a N/A setup i would run a long duration cam and high lift. For a turbo setup same rules apply as for where you are located and how well you can tune, But forced induction seems to like a shorter duration, less overlap, and high lift. B-series: Springs + Titainum retainers: $335 (Boost)Level 1, Billet: $665; 0.455/0.415 (253/247 deg) Level 2, Billet: $665; 0.455/0.415(260/250) (N/a) Level 3, Billet: $665; 0.488/0.470 (272/270) Level X, Billet: Call** **Custom Rocker assembly: $1605 straight from www.bisimoto.com What i added In bold above is what i would go with if i were you. I would not run any other cam besides bisi's they are just beautiful works of art :) Anyways i hope this helps a lil, as for compression i would go with 10.5 with your setup and have a nice snappy lil setup w/ reduced lag. But i wouldnt take to much of that from me i aint gonna lie ima a N/A guy :) |

Static compression ratio does NOT affect spool time. Despite what you may have read elsewhere.
