Default compression

This is a stupid question but I forget how to figure it out.
If I put a compression test on my motor and say the gauge reads 150 or so. how do I get the ratio (example 9 to 1)
Can you help me?

I suspect that you will not be able to accurately calculate the mechanical compression ratio of your engine by the means you describe.

ok than how do you get the compression ratio?
to run a turbo you cant have over 9 to 1 compression
so how do you get that if you have a 4 cyl running 150 lb each cyl?

Somewhere on here is a link to a comp. finder. it has all hondas, you swap in what you've got: rods, pistons, head, gasket thickness, everything is right there. you just click and it tells you exactly what your motor is running at. I'll look for it . Only thing is it's only got honda oem.

damn I just found it too...
heres another... turbofast.com, but there you've gotta know bore, stroke, deck height.
search: chevrolet and compression ratio. maybe.
I thought about turboin my monte ls next. big, fast, and guzzlein gas. what size motor?year? You can turbo anything, but a lower ratio is more friendly.

most chevys run 9-10 comp ratio, stock. The comp test you did just lets you know if all of your cylinders are good. no blown rings, head gasket, valve seats, that ----. If all your cylinders came out at 150, at least you know your not leakin anywhere. How much boost are you tryin to run anyway? I wouldn't go above 6-8 on an unbuilt domestic.
