comperssion test
well ive been having a little bit of problems with my car not wanting to start..some times it really would take over 1 min to start.. so i changed the plugs and wires.. and still no go.. so i did a comperssion test and this is what i got 150,120,150,150 so my ? is would that cause the problems im having? i want to no before i start spending anymore money on this motor..
by the way this is on a z6 |
Re:comperssion test
This is your red hatch? :(
Did you blow more than 1 head gasket on this also? I remember you had the timing advanced pretty far and that seems to be the problem with d-series motors lately. |

Re:comperssion test
i'd say, put some oil down the cylinders and do another compression test with the throttle wide open. If the compression comes up by a fair bit, i'd say your piston rings are getting weak (the oil will fill in the gap between the rings and the cylinder walls).

Re:comperssion test
the compression test was done warm and with the throttle wide open right? Do what was said above and see if that weak cylinder comes up a bit.
It also sounds like you might have a fuel pump problem, if the fuel pump check valve goes bad it takes longer for the car to start after it sits for awhile. |

Have you ever tried checking your main relay? I had problems like that non-stop, sometimes didn't want to start at all. Then my relay caught on fire, so i have a huge cluster----- of switches to start my crx now :D Never had a problem since ::)
