Code 9?
i know this is cylinder position senser is this a normal thing to happen when doing a dpfi to mpfi? the motor ran fine b4. Any suggestions would be great thx

Re: Code 9?
do you have the SI dizzy? the mpfi and dpfi cps'es have a diffrent number of signals for each rotation. Did you mess up on the wires to the distributer? did you mix the 2 white wires up?

Re: Code 9?
its got to be a wiring issue

Re: Code 9?
Yeah I had the same problem when I did a MPFI conversion but I went back over all my wires and found I had put a wrong wire in the wrong pin. It solved the CYP code.

Re: Code 9?
The distributor wires are polarity sensitive. You probably have the CYP sensor wired to the correct pins at the ECU, but they need to be reversed.
If your ignition timing is not correct with the distributor centered, or your startup + idle is rough, post up precise details. I can walk you through. |
Re: Code 9?
yeah the car starts just fine but idles really rough and dies with throttle im puzzled on this
|
Re: Code 9?
Uhm, rough idle means it does not start fine. I should clarify - TDC sensor sets base ignition timing and injector timing... when it is off, you take an extra 0.5-1.5 seconds to crank compared to correct TDC polarity, and idle is a bit rough.
Check your timing with a timing light and report back, you probably need to worry about polarity of all three of the dizzy sensors + the timing check will confirm. |
Re: Code 9?
were still checkin it out ill get back to you with some more details.

Re: Code 9?
I'm off to work, it'll be late or tomorrow before I get back to you. Never fear.

Re: Code 9?
cool man thankyou for the help i got the timing right on now but we r still throwing the code 9 im going to change the ecu pins for the distributer ill get back to you
