code 20 electrical load??

Default code 20 electrical load??

I found this 89 crx si with no wiring harness. i have a 91 civic hatch si i took the wiring harness off of to get the crx running. we got it all hooked up, got a electircal load code. (20 i think) Any ideas? We checked the dizzy, it was good. i really want this crx, but i cant drive it home if it doesnt start.

uhhh, most likely its one of the the wire harness main clips... try and close them harder make sure they snap in. Also check if u have a resistor box wired up. Then check ur starter fuse and ---- like that, she should fire up... the ecu is obviously getting power... something like the starter wire or something is not, give me some more info as to what u may have left out, ill try and help u out

well, i wire brushed the ---- out of the starter connection, and checked the resistor box... i didnt, however, double check the clips. use some serious force to make sure they are connected. ill try that. if it doesnt work, im going to say ---- it.

i read shortyz link and I see exactly what the problem is.

88-89 civic/crx's have EXTERNAL ELD's.
90-91 have internal ELD's

meaning that the 89 crx's ecu is looking for the eld, which the car has, but the 91 wiring harness isnt looking for. plug in your 91 civic si's ecu and it will work.

also the ecu could be fried.

i figured it out. i ended up hooking up the pm6. still didnt start. after a half hour of swearing and dirt kicking, i noticed i didnt run the power to the starter. talk about feeling like a dumbass. problem solved. thanks all.
