clutch noise??

I installed a 6puck sprung like 2 weeks ago has over 500+ miles on it now . and havent had a problem but all the sudden in the past 2 days i heard this weird like rubbing kinda noise.. thought it was my axel or somthin at first. when i was turning and stuff. but it only did it when i had the car in gear so i thought it was the trans like low on fluid but then it went away when u pushed the clutch in sittin there .. and while driving its kinda noisy.. So sittin in my driveway just idleing its making the noise outta gear sounded like my ------- engine but then i put the clutch in and its not makin the noise.. let off and it the clutch like catching the flywheel or kinda rubbin against it.. pretty sure since it only does it when my foots off the clutch and goes away when my foots on. Any ideas why its doing it now? is this gonna be a problem or wear my clutch faster?

Re: clutch noise??

yea its in there right .only goes in one way with the pressuer plate.. and i used an alignment tool .. ask some of my buddies and they first thought it was my throwout bearing .. but its brand new and i put new lube on the shaft and the fork and ----.. so they think it my might be my trans makni the noise. it does have 170k on a dx , used to make a whiny noise in gear for a while too like in the winter or colders days. i have ex/si im gonna swap in sunday and ill see if that takes care of the noise.

well i still dont know.. just curious what you guys think. the noise is like getting louder theres fluid.. new clutch /pressure plate / throwout .. regreased . has fluid. im not sure maybe the trans is junk.. so maybe the pressure plate it comeing loose? .. could that be a possiblity?

Highly unlikely, which clutch kit and bearings were used?

just because something is new people assume that cant be it

i put my money on the TO bearing being bad already

im going to try a new throwout bearing for the hell of it either thursday or sunday when i swap the trans. from what ive been reading .. im leaning towards bad imput shaft bearing.. the trans does have 170k + , dx trans raped for over a year on 10lbs and i just swaped that 6 puck sprung like 2 weeks ago. and i raped it a few times. well ill pull that trans and see how things go .. the ex /si will be better for me anyways.. hope that its in ok shape tho .. unknown condition lol

Re: clutch noise??

If its noisy when you push the clutch in its the throw out bearing.
If its noisy when you are in neutral and off the clutch then its the input shaft bearing, because the input shaft is spinning whenever the clutch is engaged.
