clutch issues
well the other day I lost my clutch pedal...it is the second time its happened lately...my manifold to slave cylinder clearance in my car is absically non existant and last time it snapped the bleeder screw in half. this time, i replaced the slave cylinder completely and bled it, but the car still wont go into gear, when the car is started....goes in fine when car is off..any ideas? note, i did have to dry shift to get home the other day when the pedal went out...did i completely ---- it up or something?

Re: clutch issues
When you push the clutch pedal does the slave cylinder and clutch fork even move?
|
Re: clutch issues
yea...pedal doesn't feel too right tho...altho i guess i could just not be used to it from not driving it for a few days....feels like it isnt as stiff as it should be

Re: clutch issues
Could be the master is on the way out.

Re: clutch issues
Any more advice? The brake pedal feels fine...if the master was going out, wouldnt the brake pedal feel like ---- too?
|

Re: clutch issues
oh okay....ill pick one up tomorrow...i also have a small leak on one of my hardlines....but its tiny...how small of a leak would cause this stuff
|
Re: clutch issues
hydraulic systems can not have any leaks whatsoever, replace lines and try again, bleed it properly, get another person to help you.

Re: clutch issues
What year Chevy?????
I'll guess a B series Honda with a bad clutch disc, spit a spring. |
Re: clutch issues
if its got a leak, fix it
|
Re: clutch issues
yea...ordered new hardlines and a new clutch master cylinder
also, its a d16y8 with an lsd 6 puck sprung clutch |
Re: clutch issues
i wouldnt bother with the master until you change the line to see if that was it...
|
Re: clutch issues
i was thinkin the same thing too but its not in stock...so i ordered it anyway and if i dont use it, il just return it
|
Re: clutch issues
does a new clutch master cylinder need to be bench bled?
|
Re: clutch issues
well now hardline, slave and clutch master have all been replaced and bled and the problem is still there. ill be pulling the tranny tomorrow...wut should i be looking for on the pressure plate/clutch disc to tell if it is fucked up or wut?
|
Re: clutch issues
did you bench bleed the master and then bleed the whole thing until there was no air?
|
Re: clutch issues
i pulled the tranny. the flywheel bolts backed out. ------ shitty, cuz they were locktited in. so im just gonna slap it back together in the next day or so...only problem is, current temp is 15, with a windshield of 0...so it sucks to work on the car
