i think the force you are pushing against when clutching is the pressure plate, did you bleed the line?

What PP are you using? Cable trans with the HD PP break pedal assemblies all the time. Ive replaced everything including clutch fork, return spring, pedal, pedal assembly, cable, and the cable stay that mounts on the trans. I cant walk w/o feeling a pain in my left foot from daily driving my EF in NYC. For some strange reason my pedal is abnormally stiff.

I think i figured this ---- out i took the pp and clutch off the other night to look everything over and when i put i back on the fingers of the pp went form / to l they shoudnt straiten out like that right. I traded my buddy flywheels a while ago and the one i have now is a 2 step. I think it needs to be flat someone let me know if im wrong.

Thanks Kuipers
